That background, grounded in precision and the physics of signal and noise, gave him a particular lens through which to view the biggest questions in science.
In retirement, he turned that same methodical curiosity toward the cosmos — reading, researching, and ultimately writing the book he wished had existed when his questions began. What Came Before...the Beginning? is the result of years spent at the intersection of cosmology, philosophy, and wonder.
